Does nitrous decarb your engine?

I run a bottle through the car every two weeks - does this effectively clean out the engine (carb buildup, etc?) :confused:

No officer, the nitrous is not for racing, I only use it to clean the carbon off my pistons!!!

Yes, it will spit-shine all parts til they are gleaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the ultimate way to de-carbonize.....

I was told that it really does decarbonize the engine. That's how the the service center know that youre running nitrous - your engine is wayy too clean. And that's when they void your warranty. :nopity

I was told that it will keep things clean due to the extreme heat.. duno if its true..

It all depends. I run a 10lbs bottle every month and I just changed the piston rings on my C5 and there was a ton of carbon. In order to clean the engine you have to lead out the engine. Get a hypertech programmer and run the engine lean to clean. Just becareful not to melt the engine.
