Car run awesome. You can really feel the difference.
We don't have dyno here to test the car and see how many RWHP has gain, but my mid range and top end power is exceptional well.
I can rev faster than before, the redline come faster than before in all the gears. That means that the engine's response is better and car is quicker.
I really recomend this intake for everyone that interest in a bolt on stuff in his C5.

Re: Haltech Tunel Ram system.... Just receive it!! (Greenbeast)
GREENBEAST/JIM HALL:
My mechanic looked at mine last nite briefly and thought the shroud had to be cut as mine just arrived also. I told him no cutting of the shroud is required and can you guys confirm this.
Mechanic states no install directions comes with the unit either and can one of you gentleman post simple and concise install directions.
Re: Haltech Tunel Ram system.... Just receive it!! (Greenbeast)
Just got my TRAP in today and it looks great. Nice quality product and visually pleasing as well. I have the Granatelli Mass Airflow Aluminum Housing but not the actual sensor and was wondering if it is better to run these or the stock housing? Jim maybe you could chime in and help as I would love to install it this weekend. My car is a 97 with only exhaust & X-pipe, LS6 manifold, MAF housing and will install LT Headers as soon as they arrive. Oh and I do have the Z06 style fog light indution or whatever you call them. Thanks....

I just had one of these units installed at 21st Century Muscle Cars on my stock 2003 C5 vert. RWHP increased from 301 to 316. HOWEVER -- (read on) -- the graphs showed that my car was retarding the timing quite a bit. John and company thought that it might be bad gas (I am a new owner and didn't realize that all gas stations are NOT equal). Also, on the non-Z06's, there are these little plastic shrouds around the fog lights where the vents would be for the Z06. These shrouds all but seal off the filter from breathing properly. I bought some modified shrouds (not sure if that is the right word to be using) from John that seem to be made out of the stock ones with custom holes cut in them and grilles added on. They still protect the fog lights, but have air holes for the filter to breathe. I have them installed and have a fresh tank of gas from Mobil with some octane boost just in case. I am waiting for an open slot on his dyno to check the results. I will post the graphs when complete. I seem to have noticed a 'seat of the pants' improvement, but I'm not sure how much of that is my own mind **wanting** it to feel faster.
With all that being said, I was impressed with the gain -- considering the gas situation and the factory fog light shrouds impeding the airflow. Nice looking, too! ;)

The GMS Unit should be ok; we have had better dyno results with the stock MAF, and or our 76mm MAF ends sandwiched around the stock sensor.

Hey, even with a 15 RWHP gain with no tuning is a great gain.
You could have had at least that much HP for a lot less than $500+. OK, it's a nice looking system, but I have always thought Haltech is too pricey.
Like what? In 2002, GM bumped the HP by 20 HP at the flywheel by changing the exhaust to a dual cat vs. 4 cat system. Increased the cam lift to .551"/.549"; removed the laminar airflow honeycomb screen from the MAF; coated the pistons, tighten the piston to wall clearances, utilized potassium/sodium filled lightweight valves; and reprogrammed the computer, all for 20 HP at the flywheel. That amounts to 17 RWHP.
This customer's results of 15 RWHP equals 17.65 HP at the flywheel, with one mod. Imagine what it would cost to replace the cam, MAF, exhaust ($1375) just to see 20 more HP. I think with a little bit of tuning he'll see 20 to 22 RWHP easy. Our 2003 automatic was up by 20.1 with this mod and programming. That costs around $900 total if tuned at the same shop.
