Oil burning and Ring problem

I know I am beating a dead horse, but was this cleared up by 2003 or do I have to watch for it still?

You should be fine. It was cleared up for Z06 cars with the beginning of 2002 production and LS1 cars got the change a couple weeks into 2002 production.

so what years of production, have the oil consumption problem ?

i'm looking to buy a 99 or 00,,,,,,,,,, will these cars use oil??

No. The oil burners were the 01 and early 02 cars.

I've seen complaints of oil usage on the forum that concerned almost all years including 03's. The majority of these complaints are from 01 owners. The number of cars that use oil is very small considering how many cars that were built. My 01 6 spd. has never used any oil. I know several 01 owners and none of them use oil either. I think the owners of cars that do use oil are just very vocal (I would be too) and that makes the problem seem bigger than it actually is. Just my .02 :cheers:
