Default contemplated modifications 2003 c5

Just purchased my new 03 spiral grey coupe. Contemplating major modifications. For example, MTI stage II heads, MTI LS1 custom cam,MTI true ram-air induction, full length ceramic headers, corsa touring exhaust, MTI underdrive pully, 3.42 upgrade(stock 2.73), torque converter, ported and polished throttle body, transmission cooler kit, 160' thermostat and custom computer tuning. My questions are these: Is this over kill? There are a few Exotics in town and plenty of rice burners that I anticipate hooking up with not to mention that my partner has a Z06. Anything I can do without? What can I expect (rwhp and performance in general). Also putting 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 Fikse wheels with Michelin pilot sports 265/35/18 and 295/35/18. Would any of you more technically savy do anything different? If so, what? All help appreciated.

sounds like you've done some research. That setup looks good to me. You would prolly get around 430+ rwhp. You might want to upgrade the brakes with some better rotors, like eradispeeds for example, some stainless lines and maybe some carbon pads. Other than that, you have a nice combo picked out there. Nice color choice btw and I love Fikse wheels. I would only suggest 18's in front and 19's in back to keep the larger wheel in back look.

I contemplated either staying with 17 and 18 or 18 and 19 but was talked out of it by the guys at Fikse. They seem to like the look of 18 all around. Also, they had 4 wheels ready to ship (no customary 3-4 week wait). This was important because I plan on travelling to Tenn. for the 50th celebration and didn't want to chance not having wheels. Thanks for the comments.

Sounds like a GREAT SET UP but you will also need to cough up the extra $ for a high. performance A4 tranny ( i recommend FLP) as the AWESOME new POWER that MTI will give you in their H/C package will certainly TOAST your stock A4 tranny which is your MAJOR WEAK LINK!

BEst of luck and GO FOR IT!

How much $$$$ are we talking about? I just as soon do whatever is neccessary now rather than later but there is a limit to the money tree in the back yard!!

Talking about 2,500 installed i would approximate for a FLP Level IV tranny. Call Chuck JOhnson at FLP (forum tunder) and tell him i sent you! ;)

Best of luck,
