Mystery front end clunking binding help please
I'm not sure what you are describing on the clutch but you will get a clunking sound when you make a turn and one of the links to your sway bar is not tight.

vetterdstr
Is the clunking sound in the front or rear??
Rear clunking "might" be normal at turning and low speeds if your hearing the rearend. If the clunking happens when you begin going straight from a slow turn, this could be the differential. But the noise should have been there from the start. You might have a worn part, so if the sound is from the rearend, you would want GM to check this out.
Front clunking could be many things. Front sway bar bushings are a common problem, but they make more of a creaking or popping noise at slower speeds. Usually more noticeable on parking lot turns, speed bumps, etc. Loose sway bar ends can make a clunking noise. There are also a lot of other suspension parts that can be loose that would make the noise.
If you're in warranty and trust your local Chevy place, then they can usually correct the front problems easily. I have gone underneath my front end and torqued up everything in sight. There was a lot of loose stuff under there. I continue to have the sway bar creaking come back after a few months, even after lubing the rubber mounts.
