Default Oil temp is around 220

Is this normal..i've noticed latley my oil temp has been getting to and hanging around 200-220. Is this normal??

Yes it is normal. Mine breaks 220 quite often.

Mine gets over 280 on the track. I have been meaning to install that oil cooler, but keep putting it off. In any case, if your oil temps are in the 220 range, you are barely boiling off the water which tends to condense in the engine. You might want to think about how to get it a little hotter.

Hello "windy city"! I lived at 57th and Kimbark (sp?) many years ago. Your temp is OK as noted, and a good thing once in a while too. You want to get over the 212 point to boil off any condensation and/or contaminants. :yesnod: :)

Mine runs between 220 and 230 in heavy traffic. I think you are normal. :crazy:
