Nick Agostino is a great guy who has moved onto other things.
That said, Wade Stevens is the sole owner of ARE now, and IMO, things couldn't be better!!!!!!!!!!!! IMO things are much more organized and the service and care that goes into each job is meticulous. I have had tons of work done by them and everything is 1st class.
Wade is one of the most meticluous people I have met and he takes a great deal of pride in his work and the work of his staff! I was there yesterday and they all busted their AZZ for me. I highly recommend them.
Talk to MattG for more details and specifics. Also check out my thread in Tech about my new numbers :D Good luck. BTW, I am a Western New Yorker too :seeya

I'd echo the sentiment. Nick was/is a great guy and was fun to work with on my initial H/C setup. During his reign, however, shop efficiency and customer service was a bit inconsistent which led to a fair bit of frustration at times. Under Wade, things seem much smoother. I've needed to talk with him intermittently while getting my 436 up and running. He and his crew were always there, and always helpful. Their workmanship also seems first rate: I've now got about 4k miles on the package with no problems. Admittedly it's not seen track time, but it has seen lots of spirited street driving in our often steamy climate and it never overheats, never pings, and just runs like a train.
My only regret: not being close-by so I could get to the shop for ongoing upgrades and tweaking.
my general impression is VERY GOOD with ARE. those guys are extremely busy, and do a good job at handling / organizing things.
I had my work done after Nick's departure though, so cant quite compare the before and after.
I have met Nick in tha past (ARE Dyno Day), and he was a very nice guy to talk to.
Put it this way, every LSx owner i come across, who is interested in modding their car, i STRONGLY suggest going to ARE... not because of their SUPERIOR products or because they are one of the top tuners... but because of their overall service. They have a good thing going there, from the facility to the personnel.
Wade is great, I have a heads guy that built my ls6 heads with big valves and all the goodies that I was going to use on my blower motor before deciding to hell with FI, I called wade and he has built my 436 shortblock with all the goodies and made the CR etc work with the heads I already have, in fact my block may ship this week--can't wait for good ole NA and take this blower crap off my car, in defense of the blower however I have kept the boost and rev limit (6# and 6000) and have never had a problem, I just want an NA car I think upkeep will be far less down the road.
ARE rocks! Nick, Wade, and Barry all helped me out tremendously with my solid roller h/c package. My understanding of it is just that Wade bought the place from Nick, and things are alot more organized. I think in the beginning Nick was swamped.
MattG has represented us for years on this Forum in a manner you can't get just anywhere. I could not ask for a better 'person' to be associated with. He also reps for ARE, both when Nick was there and now that Wade has assumed the helm.
I have not had work done up there first hand, but, I do know this, for certain....MATTG would not be involved with ARE old or new, unless things were good and he could feel good about repping for them. That being said, use them, you won't be left out in the cold. You will get what's promised. And, as they say, that is the bottom line.:)
MATTG knows about as much about these cars and how to make them GO-FAST, reliably, as any of the big time tuners out there because he likes to learn and applies it very well. He talks it and walks it...check his sig and his Forum avtar lsitings...he can drive and look good doing it. Well, the car looks good...Matt is on his own for the rest.;)
OK, my commercial for Matt is over...sorry to be so long winded.:)
Thanks everyone that was a resounding positve response to my question about Nick not being at ARE anymore. I'll be heading up there to get an LS1/6 edit done on my way to Mosport, and talk to them about a heads an cam package for road racing. :chevy :chevy :chevy
