I know that a little of this is probably normal, but I have a lot of condensation (or is it something else?) coming out of the Borla's whenever I start my car after a couple hours or more of sitting. I normally wouldn't worry about it, but its actually staining the garage floor and it really fills up the rear facia with black specs while driving too.
Same thing when I installed my Corsa's on my 96. Tighten all the clamps up better. I had to really bare down on the bolts on the clamps to get them tight enough.
Unfortunately, that's normal. One of the byproducts of combustion is water. It's gonna come out the exhaust. Couple that with the aerodynamics of the C5...BINGO, little black spots. If your car is clean and waxed just one pass of a California duster will take them off.
Actually pushing a little water is a good sign, it usually means your engine is tight! Remember the song? Little Duce Coupe? "And she is pushing out the water like you never seen" Not that the song is creditable, but like above water is a by product of combustion in our engines!
Last week I gave mine a wash job and pulled in the garage for a oil change. Welp, I pulled up on the ramps, and let her sit a while before I jacked up the rear to bring her level and talk about black spots on the garage floor. The wash water came pouring out the exhaust pipes, and on the floor!
Thanks guys. I guess I never really noticed it as much before. Maybe the old stock exhaust kept more of the fluid inside the muffler rather than the way the Borla's spit it out right away.
