New convertible top...
I'm getting ready to swallow hard and try installing my own new replacement convertible top on my '68. I have purchased everything I think I need. Can anyone that has been through this send some information and tips my way, or talk me out of it if you think I'm crazy. The local upholstery guy wants $500 labor to do it so I know it can't be easy. Ouch! Thanks in advance for any help. Greg
On a follow-up question.. Has anyone changed a convertible top on a C5? Mine is black and I'm thinking aboutgoing to white. If the '68 job isn't a total disaster, is th C5 doable at home?

I did a replacement on a '67 several years back. It was not too difficult as I recall, only thing was, I found out that the header (the metal piece of the frame that latches the top to the windshield) was corroded inside to the point that I had to replace it. It cost almost as much as the top itself. Take your time and if possible have someone to help you so you don't get any wrinkles in the fabric while attaching, you'll need a good stapler also. Don't know about the C5 but would recommend refering to a factory shop manual before making that decision. :cheers:
