although the question has already been answered, we will continue to post and show off our lowered rides!
Is that what we're doing? :D
Cutting the bushings doesn't give you any more bolt adjustment. If you had the bolt cranked all the way up before, after cutting the bushings, turn them all the way up again, or adjust them down a little if that is too low for ya. Give it a few days to settle before deciding to readjust.
I did this to my '97 and I can tell you that the ride is lousy with the bushings completely removed. If you decide to do it, I would recommend just cutting them a little.
After cutting the front bushing and using longer bolts in the rear, the car handles and rides great. It feels more like a sports car should feel. It you want a soft plushy ride, buy a Buick. ;)
:iagree:
Cut my bushings on my 99 and still not low enough!! Removing my front bolts soon and going with longer bolts in the rear. Handles like its on rails and looks like it doing a 100mph sitting still!! Do it
Make sure you get it alligned after a week or 100+ miles. It does take time to settle, especially if it's been up in the air a long time (longer than a day).

I would not cut them. To low and the car rides like crap & doesn't handle.
Mine rides great with the front bushing cut and 6-1/2" bolts in the rear. Handles great, like it should!

I just love this place. :smash: :smash: :smash:
If you are serious in street racing, do not cut the bushings!!!!!! :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:
The car will definitely rides like crap and doesn't handle. :mad :mad
couldn't agree more????? I dropped mine on the deck and it looks great and handles great but not much fun on road trips. It would be nice if there was a fast easy way to drop it for shows and around town but put it back up for road trips. :nonod: :(

OK...I read the instructions on cutting the bushings but have a question. When you remove the nut holding the lower control arm in place, do you need a balljoint separator or does the arm just fall away from the ball joint with a little effort? I do not have the facilities to do this if it you need the tool. Anyone in South Florida wanna make some money?
As a side note my car is lowered to the max with the stock hardware. The front rides great but the back gets a touch choppy every now and then. I think the shocks are bottoming out. This weekends project: raise the upper rear shock mounts to restore some travel.
