Default Installed my K&N replacment filter...

The big brown truck came today :D and I dropped that bad boy in.. Dont have any pictures maybe tomorrow.

Just wondering if those tie straps on each side is good enough? No unfiltered air should get in from the sides right?..

Thanks

I would not do zip ties on the filter alone. Why dont you cut the air lid?

.
Like this I cut my airlid with my dremel and a fiber cut off disc and it breathes awesome!

Buy a Z06 lid from Gene, or another stock one and cut it. If you ever have to go the dealer slap the stock one on. Should be able to find one cheap.

DOn't have to cut the lid. take it off altogether. Now the part that "slides out" is like a plastic filter brace...it should go in like so....bottom of box+filter+brace+sipties in at least 2 locations....works great for me. Another thing to think about is the hood seal...

Contemplating either taking the lid off entirely, replacing with Z06 lid, or cutting opening in original. Is it dificult to remove the lid? Do I have to remove the entire air box.
It is a pretty confined area and I can't see exactly how the lid is attached to the box/car.
Any words of adivse will be appreciated.

I see from you post that you have installed the dynamat xtreme. How do you like the change? How did the installation go (easy, tuff, long, etc.) Also, you indicated you have done the PCV mod. What is that mod for and how is it done?

Well I might just try the zip tie with the filter brace and see how that goes if not ill order a lid and cut it.. I aint skeeered! lol!!!

The dynamate Xtreme is cool.. Really helped out the system the car dosent rattle at all even with all that bass! lol Not hard to install either.. Time depends on how good you want it to look other than that its peal, heat and stick...
