There was a writeup of an install of a Magnuson by them in the july issue of Corvette Enthusiast (used to be Cars & Parts Corvette). They are in Loganville, Georgia, just down the street from Maxie Price Chevrolet. Looked like a good job on the install, but hearing about personal experience from others is the real test. Love to hear from any of you folks that know anything about them.
I'd be curious to hear impressions of them myself. I met the guy (I think Jody was his name) at a show in Atlanta a couple months ago and he seemed to be a great guy, but I'd love to hear how good his work is.
I have not personally used them but have been asking alot of questions about them in the last couple of weeks and also met one of the guys at the super chevy show last weekend. I have heard nothing but good things from the people I have talked to that have used them. I will be calling them this week for some tuning if my parts ever show up......I will keep you posted.... :chevy
Thanks to both of you! Please do post any further information that you get or e-mail me. We really do need to have a good tuner in the Southeast. No problem if you are in Florida or in the northeast, but there are none around here that I know of for serious tuning work. And I hate to go way out of town for this sort of stuff because of the hassels, especially if there are problems later or when you want to make further changes.

Well, there is Mike Norris in Orlando, but that's an 8 hour drive from Atlanta.
Thanks Mark. That is exactly the sort of information I am looking for. I had the rear changed by a shop in Charlotte, and the work was overpriced and sloppy. Typical boy racer outfit with no respect for a nice car. I am looking to avoid that, but more importantly I am looking for someone like Mike Norris in terms of quality and knowledge but a southeast tuner shop.
I think Kudzu said some Classic Glass members had used them with good results. I have never been to their shop or spoken to them. Sounds like a Peachstate Posse outing. :auto:
Are they doing in house dyno tuning now?
Also Lamar Walden in Atlanta has been highly recommend as well as South Georgia Corvettes http://sgvette.com
Hopefully by end of summer I'll have a cam and new clutch. Speedhound was most likely getting the clutch install. :yesnod:
I had a great expereince with Jody at Speedhound. They installed my Borla Exhaust system about 3 months ago. Although I'm having problems with the exhaust itself, the install was great!
Thank you all very much. Bottom line is that it looks like we have a winner here for the Southeast crowd.
By the way, while his prices for installation work and such are too high, Roger Vinci is one of the very best dyno tuners for the C5 out there, and his prices for that service are pretty reasonable. You don't see much about him here, but Roger Judski at Rogers Corvettes in Orlando referred me to him, and a number of other Florida folks that I have spoken with in settings other than this forum prefer him for that. One guy with a lot of experience with tuners and such for a number of years has his mechanical work done elsewhere near Orlando for a reasonable price and then goes to Vinci for the tuning. Of course, if it were for serious heads, cam, etc I would probably go to Norris, since I have never seen one negative comment about any aspect of his work or customer service.
Anyhow, I am going to give Speed Hound some serious thought, since I have decided to go the Magnuson route, maybe with the LPE blower cam, and I would guess from your comments that he would do a first class job with it, and it is not all that far from here.
Speedhound had the car with the Magnuson at the show last weekend and the install looked very clean. They seem to have all the bases covered on that install, from pinning to sending your stock hood for clearance and everything looked nice. I like the gauges on the inside of the hood cowl that looked sweet also. :D
