Automatic vs. 6-speed

:lolg: :lolg:
However, I'm a lover, not a fighter, therefore it's a 6 for me :steering:

Oh this argument again.
Same mods?
How am I gonna put a converter and trans-go on my 6 speed? :D :jester
Seriously though the A4 is great for competitive drag racing.
However IMO the 6-speed is generaly more capable all around.
I will take the slight disadvantage when running the 1/4.
I will just attempt to make up for it with driving (and I do need practice)
Where I drive not all the roads are perfectly straight.
I will never ever give up my manual tranny.
Having to compensate for a reduced launching capability from a stop is an acceptable tradeoff.
Having my car decide to down shift whilst pulling high G turn. :nono:
That is not acceptable to me. It is just a personal preference.
I'm giving props to 99C5JA1......

If you drive in stop and go traffic a lot, are physically unable to drive a manual, or plan to drag race the car competitively, then consider an A4. If you want to road raxe, auto-x, or just carve up your favorite back road then there is no question (in my opinion) that you want a 6spd. The driving experience with a 6spd (to me) is so much better than an A4 ever could be. In the end its your money. Buy what makes you happy.

The big difference is out on the road. Try to keep an A4 from dropping into 1st when all you wanted to do is hold 2nd and roll in full throttle at 35 MPH. Do that in a turn and you'll come to appreciate the MN6 or AH. I saw a 98 w/o AH do that and the car came around right in front of me.
I want to control the car and chose a manual.

Some interesting stats....the Z06 is the slowest at 171 mph....the coupe is most aerodynamic...

Personally, my vette is a daily driver & I love popping out the hole at red lights (w/in reason). I am not going to be driving in the street to the point that my tranny selection is going to make a difference. Like many vette owners, its the occasional peelout & knowing I have the power that tickles me. BTW I love all vettes...
