I just got thru having to make this decision. I went back and read a bunch of the archived posts and found a variety of opinions. Plus, with some tires not being out too long, there's not much data on their long-term performance. Also, a lot of folks tend to post about their tires right after they buy them, so they don't have the benefit of seeing how those tires hold up.
All that said, I went with Kumhos -- the price is very good and the opinions on them so far are pretty good. Good luck. :seeya
You can go to tire rack and look at the comments left by consumers. There's typically hundreds of comments but you can narrow the comments by vehicle type. So you can see what vette owners say about the tires they like and don't like.
Personally I really like the Firestone SZ50 EP runflats. They are awesome in the rain, have a higher treadwear so they last longer, and they are quieter. They do break loose a little easier on dry pavement but they are more predictable than the goodyears. On rain, they are awesome, 100+ without any fear of hydroplaning.
I've bought 4 complete sets (over 8 yers and 3 corvettes) so far and I'm getting ready to buy a set on my newest corvette. I've had one set last over 40k miles on them! I sold the car with these tires. :auto:

I am a big Firestone fan too, and I had these on my C4 and put them on my C5 when new. However, after adding power, the rears had a really hard time holding it, and they wore very quickly. So I bit the bullet and went to a non-runflat, making them cheaper and available in a wider rear size (295x35x18). Hopefully that decision will work out.
