B+B broken!
I was washing my car the other day and noticed that the driver's side tailpipes were loose. Well, I looked underneath expecting to see a loose band clamp and found the weld around the input to the muffler was completely broken, all the way around! Only the reinforcement on top was holding the muffler on. For now I've taken the muffler off, but the over-axle pipe exits into the bodywork. Should I be concerned? And should I contact B+B?
Thanks in advance.
BTW the thing sounds like a freakin' race car!

I'd just take it to a mulffler shop and get it welded.
B&B would probably warrant it, but that's a big hassle, when a few minutes at a muffler shop could fix it.

:iagree:
Taking it off and shipping would take a while, where-as a quick weld would do the trick.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if it'll take a weld, as there are now cracks stemming from the welds. I'll definitely take it by a shop though.
Also, isn't there something special about welding stainless steel? Is it stainless in the first place?

Take the part off and take it to a good welding shop and $20 dollars later you'll have a just like new part. The same thing happened to me and I have found weld shops have better welders than muffler shops.

I would
NOT drive it with the exhaust gasses comming out onto the car...anywhere under it. Might catch it on fire
At least not very far :nonod:

Take it to a muffler shop and have it welded back on.
