Default Upper radiator shroud/support question

Hoping some folks with a bit more experience than me can chime in on this one.

My '97 C5 has a small crack in the upper radiator support, to the driver's side of the air bridge. Seems to be a pretty common thing.

So, I went to the dealer to get it replaced, and got a new one. Unfortunately, when I went to install the new upper support piece, it did not fit. Two pieces that formerly went to the inside (medial) of the radiator endtanks now interfered with the endtanks, and I couldn't put the new part on.

The part number I was given was:#10405439

But the one on my car was 10229485. When the Parts manager and I tried to look up that number, it told us that the P/N had been updated to the above number. :(

So, am I screwed? Is there a way for me to get an old-style radiator support/shroud? The crack is just cosmetic and doesn't really matter, but I'd like to have it look nice, if at all possible.

Guess I should just get one of the DRM radiators and that should fix it! :lolg:

Any suggestions/advice/experience welcomed!

-Jake
