Wait, then what about spark plug gaps? My little mechanical gapper can't have fine enough resolution to have all the gaps exactly identical! What if some gaps are .0016 larger than others?
not true. "Light" speed is light speed. It is less lossy in space, but it travels the same speed no matter what the medium.
Example; If I get into a craft, take off and travel 10 times the speed of light and then quickly land... will I see myself land again a few seconds later?

I have to disagree here. For instance light travels through fiber at different speeds. All have quoted rates of speed or velocity of propogation corrected by refractive index. Same with an electrical signal. Fastest in free space. Slower through media.
