Default Corsa Indys vs GHLs

I have the Indys with the xpipe and B&B shorties. I wonder what would be gained switching over to GHLs in place of the Indys; for those of you who have done this please respond with your observations.

I had Corsa Indy's on my '99 for 2 years, and then on my '01 for almost 2 years before switching to the GHL's this past winter. I couldn't be happier with the change. I always liked the sound of the Indy's at WOT, but was never completely happy with the sound at idle or part throttle. The GHL's have a much deeper tone all the time, sound great at idle or part-throttle, and still scream at WOT. No resonance with the GHL's, and I'd say both systems are pretty much equally loud. Definitely a good upgrade IMO!! :D

Good luck,
Collin

From my armchair dyno, for a power gain, you're probably not going to get much more from GHLs versus Corsas. If you let more air into a mostly stock engine with a better air intake, even the stock exhaust can let it out pretty well.

I'm eagerly waiting for the GHL GP and replacing my Corsas. I thought I wanted to be more "refined" with this car, but the thet-thet-thet putt-putt sound of the Corsa is too wimpy for me.

I have the same setup without cats for my blower, after dyno'ing in the blower I dropped the corsa's bolted on the GHL's and got 18 rwhp and similar tq---I don't know what other mods you have, ghls will grow with your setup as they are designed for performance modded cars, they will give a few hp on stock but really shine on modded cars, the corsa's in my opinion were too loud and gave little to no power, the ghls sound great-

The GHLs are awesome, deep sound

If you are looking for power I would swap the shorties out for LTs. :yesnod:

I thought about the LTs for quite awhile but I don't want the heat or fit issues of long tubes, and I thought the B&Bs were the finest looking headers out there. Not much additional hp but they were a great fit and I love looking at them when the hood is opened. Thanks for the replies; I like my Corsas but it looks like there is something even better except for the tips (nothing looks better than the Corsa classic tips IMO) so I guess I'll have to shell out. :cry
