Anyone running Mallet exhaust?
I have the Mallett Carbon Fiber exhaust on my car. Ive had it now for approximately 3 yrs. I love it!!!! I can't tell you how many times I get compliments on the exhaust. One word of warning-- They are LOUD. I have heard all other exhausts, and I would say this is definitely one of the loudest exhausts you can buy for the C5, but thats what I wanted. It has great weight savings, they are only a few pounds because they are carbon fiber. One very important thing to remember.: Installing a Mallett exhaust requires you to cut on your car a little bit. The small fiberglass "box" underneath the car where people put their exhaust plates on, needs to be cut off (with a dremel or similar tool) because the exhaust pipes come straight back. Mallett sells a kit for this which has a new fiber glass piece that glues up over it to fill the hole and give it a finished, stock look. The kit runs around 150-200 dollars and the last time I talked to Chuck Mallett , he said he only had a few of these left- these exhausts aren't produced anymore. But as far as performance, looks, and overall "wow" factor, This is a great exhaust. If you have anymore questions, let me know-- I installed this exhaust myself so I am very familiar with it. Hope this helps.
