partytommy,You could build about FOUR of my set ups,for the price of ONE LINGENFELTER TT,not to take anything away from the mighty Lingenfelter TT,if I could afford it,I'd have twin-turbos.My set up is definitely the most ECONOMICAL and DURABLE way to run nines in a C5.The iron block is cheaper than a re-sleeved aluminum big bore motor and a lot stronger, and the direct-port nitrous system with an independent fuel system is alot cheaper than any turbo or supercharger out there.
Sean03,It's a combination of my custom Mufflex exhaust,x-pipe,and Cartek's awesome cam/heads combo on top of my 410Cid forged iron block.Yes,Mufflex uses Spintech.
Damn Mike what a launch it never stops screaming, sorry to hear about it getting away from you, mine has gotten away from me two or three times and fortunately I had an open area or it would have been ugly, it happens quicker than anyone can imagine and its over before you have time to do s. there are times I don't like the anti-lock brakes I can handle a car in a situation like that better without the damn things there are times you need to lock up the tires. Oh well you got new paint and some dress up goodies out the deal it should look great I've got a RK spoiler and a c5r style spectre werks hood and it looks great.
Alex,I'm not doing anything outrageous,I think subtle changes look better.I'm adding an RKSport hood,a rear spoiler off a Grand-AM road race challenge car and Black Pearl paint,I'm also having my stock Z-06 wheels painted the same color as the car,it should look real mean.
Hey Mike, sorry to hear about the accident. When I first heard I felt so bad, after being without the car so long, this was the last thing you needed. Thankfully you're okay, and the car will be back better than ever. Can't wait to see it with the new look.
Anyone who thinks this car sounds awesome in the video needs to hear it in person, NOTHING LIKE IT!!! :reddevil
Billy,When the accident first happened I was so pissed,I couldn't believe it happened,I was very lucky, the two trees I took out were tall but not real thick,I just missed a huge oak tree by about two feet,if I would've hit that it would've been ugly.
Stellar112,Back in November when I decided to have Cartek convert my 6-speed to an automatic I was a little hesitant about it,In the last four years I 've made over 300 1/4 mile passes with my car at the drag strip and got sick of breaking driveline parts with my violent launches with the stick, although it was a lot of fun when the car hooked and didn't break anything. The A4 is definitely the way to go at the drag strip.
mike awesome run  i'm glad to hear that youre OK but it seems like the torque in that vette is gonna hurt you worse than the accident!!! be careful with all that power will ya!!! too much has happened in the past! RIP ROM
Rob,It was definitely a wake up call, even though I wasn't speeding or racing. It was more related to wet roads. My car has never been a primadonna,I've driven it in snow, rain, but I learned a valuable lesson, and I will not drive my car when it's even slightly wet out,not with as much power as it's making.
Here's another video against my friends big boost Grand National,if he didn't take forever at the starting line to build his boost,it would've been a good race, his car runs 10.0's. http://www.cartek.net/videos/mike998.wmv
Nice videos...and that is the best part of a "Street" car. You can drive it anywhere. Aside from the power...the car should behave like a stocker(no coughs, sputters etc) with all the modern technology.
Looking forward to seeing it re-skinned(new paint).
I just got back from driving eight hours roud trip to the body shop, the car looks F#$K!NG AWESOME!It's black with a deep purple pearl clear coat,it's definitely unique,it's too bad it was raining,I could only look at it under the lights inside the body shop.A big  to Todd and his staff at Eagle Auto Body in Middletown,NY.Todd does incredible work on Vettes if anyone ever needs any paint/bodywork,and he's fast as hell too, less than three weeks.
That's awesome Mike, I can't wait to see it.  Todd is the man, they do great work at Eagle Auto Body. He installed my Z06 brake ducts flawlessly in a couple hours. :yesnod: They definately work quick, they got to work the second I got there!
