Default Better Performance

Hello All,

I just purchased my 2000 Yellow Convertible (Automatic) with only 6700 miles on it. It looks like a brand new car. Two years ago I had a Z06, but always wanted a convertible.

Help please, what can be done performance wise to really increase hp like that of a Z06? I live in West Palm Beach, Fl.

Any shops in my area that cater to my type of request.

Any and all advice would be great.

Thank You,

Richard :seeya

Norris Motorsports in Orlando or Breathless Performance in Dania Bch. Both have some great options. You also might like Driver's Seat in Boca (off Glades) for your detailing needs !

Unless the car already has the optional hi performance (option G90 on the inside glovebox door) 3.15 REAR AXLE RATIO – I would start there. The standard GU2 2.73 is pretty slow off of the line.

As an aside if you still have the original GM battery (catalog #1809?) I would suggest replacing it immediately. Quite a few of these leak and if they do they leak right a wiring harness and the computer!

Beware of large claims for Cat back muffelers and breathers.

:iagree: the 2.73 is a starting point to modify. May I suggest a 3.42 rear, if you presently have a 2.73 rear. I went with that switch & mpg did not change very much & at 75mph my tach reads 2200 rpms

I had my state inspection renewal done at a Chevrolet dealership and they did a visual check all around & under my battery for possible leaks. None were found :)

I really like my Borla Stinger system & have dyno sheets to prove a rwhp gain was achieved from same. The sound is purrfect :yesnod:
My Vortex Rammer intake system is a pain to check the filter but would still get the same system again.

May I suggest you look at other C5 sigs on the CorvetteForum for mod ideas.

Good luck
