LPE Decision
My warranty expires in about 1,000 miles, and i'm considering upgrading the horsepower with an LPE/Magna supercharger.
However, my car hasn't been perfect and i've had to bring it to the dealer to get a number of things fixed. Nothing real serious, but still I would imagine adding a supercharger only increases the likelihood of something going wrong.
If I don't go with the supercharger, i'll probably get a GM Extended warranty, but i'd much rather have the additional horsepower, plus get a limited power-trane warranty with it.
For those of you that have got the supercharger, did you get the warranty?
Have any of you had any warranty work done, and where did you have the repairs completed? Was it fairly easy for the repair shop to work under the conditions of the warranty.
Woud a GM dealer work on the car under the warranty conditions?
What do you think I should do?
I'm still going to have to find some way to convince the wife however!!!
As always, I expect you to do your own research, but, from having both blown and N/A combinations, I will always go N/A on the street. Being faced with the same decision, I would go with the most powerful head+cam package available. First, an obviously visible supercharger is more noticible than ported heads. Second, heads and cam offer all of the perfomance of the blower with much less hassle.
I would choose the Cartek X package (ported heads+intake withfull exhaust and 4:10's). Just my opnion.
