Over the past month my Z06 has developed a traking problem that has gotten to point where the car is undrivable. The car wobbles like a rocking boat on any uneven surface, and during deceleration.
I now have a problem with the upper and lower control arm bushings in the rear. These are being replaced with poly bushings this Friday. The thing I can't figure out is now my car sits 1" lower on the passenger side. I'm sure this is the original problem that cause the bushing failures, but I'm stumped as too what could cause this. The 7" lowering bolts on the rear both have exactly the same number of threads showing, yet looking at the leaf spring, one is resting much lower than the other. The fronts are adjusted exactly the same on both sides as well.
Oh Yeah! That really sounds like a broken spring to me. If you have cleaned the engine or underside of the car with a strong grease or oil removing cleanser can cause the spring to delaminate
I'd also bet on the spring. I had a cracked front so I replaced front and rear with Z06 springs and Bilstein shocks and Hotchkis bars. Car is even better than before. It is a stiff ride, but I do not mind at all.
I just called the local Chevy dealer for pricing on the rear spring. Tha damn thing is $569 dollars. I sure hope it turns out to be something else. Although, I think you guys are probably right, and I'll have to bite the bullet.
Just found the problem. The nut that holds the lower ball joint had loosend up to the point where it was ready to fall off. Tightned it up and everything is good.
