I installed the blackwing correctly (I hope) but had trouble getting what I assume is the pvc hose (its a 1 inch thick black rubber hose that attaches to the filter) connected to the blackwing without curving it a bit to get it to fit. What is the fucntion of this hose? Does it matter if its straight or are a few bends ok?
It's some kind of air pump I think. Ijust installed my Blackwing to. Had to put a little curve in the hose your talking about but not much. Try pulling the hose off the connecter its attached to and move it around until you get the best angle before you reconnect it. That's what I did.
Re: Help with Blackwing install! (itsonlyairandfuel)
I went to NAPA and bought a straight connector to replace the 90 degree fitting. I believe the hose is the clean air supply line to the air pump.
I just taped the 90 degree bend to a short wooden dowel with black electrical tape. It's hardly noticeable but makes the connection much easier and more flexible.
All I did was pull the fitting out of the factory air box and into the Blackwing. After the fitting, it goes to a curved hose which then went to a straight plastic adaptor which then went down into the front bumper somewhere. I just pulled the hose off the straight adaptor that connects the two hoses. I reconnected it to the straight adaptor after the Blackwing was in. :seeya
