A friend tells me his left speaker is popping and cracking in his 2000 FRC C5.
I had this happen with a C4, with Bose speakers. I replace the amplifier in the speaker itself and fixed the problem.
Is this the same thing with the C5, or should I be looking for something else. The car is like new with 38K.
My '99 coupe has a similar problem I get static from the passenger speaker up front that comes and goes. I've heard that the door panel has to come off to get to the speaker. Is this true??
I would check the wires to that particular speaker from the radio to the the speaker. Its possible you have a wire that is loose or the wire is not tight on the speaker.I had a wire on the speaker that was moving around in the door .A piece of tape and a wire tie cured the problem.May be yes or maybe no.Worth a look. :chevy :chevy :flag :flag
I had that problem and the dealer replaced the speaker first. That didn't solve the problem so they replaced the radio. Works fine now.
Just to see if it might be the same thing mine would crack even with it was turned down. The only way I could get it to stop was to adjust the balance control to the other side only. :seeya
