Co-Pilot window works intermittently, not at all if damp, and I got caught in some rain while out of state ....in my 2K Vert :cuss :cuss while helping a friend set up a route for the NCRS meeting in Hershey. I picked up QD Electronics Cleaner for the connectors and grounds, then realized that I didn't know how to remove the kick panel ! :withstupid:
While I'm at it, any place else I should inspect ?
Come on guy's........ I have read other notes of this problem with the windows, someone must know how to remove the kick panels. Surely someone has the service CD's or manuals that can help me. I need to complete this project By 7/7 so I don't have time to order the service manual prior to my trip.
I have a Z06 not a vert, but if yours are the same and the kick panel extends to also wrap over the edge of the door sill and down over the top of the carpet then they probably just snap off like mine did. If I recall they had about 3 male clips that were just molded into the whole assembly. I carefuly popped them loose one at a time working my way from the back of the door toward the front. When all are loose you just tilt the assembly up from the back so that the front of the kick panel that covers the front enge of the door jamb can slip out fom under the upper piece of plastic trim that it fits under.
Start with the window switch connection first , then the connector on the RDCM, then do the grounds last. Like the others said the kick panel just snaps in. Start the removal at the rear end of the sill. Also check the window motor connector.
