Hey, I just got a 99 FRC yesterday, and would like to upgrade the suspenion to Z06 or better handling. My dad has the Z51 springs, bilstein shocks, and T1 bars. Can I just slap on the T1 bars, and it'll handle like I am wanting it? Or do I need to do shocks? What about springs?

In the back of mind I have the thought that the '99 FRC came with a special suspension that was about the same as the Z51. So, I guess it depends on just how harsh you like your ride.
Yeah, it has the Z51 suspension on it. I guess what i'm asking is ... I'm going to put the T1 bars on my car. Do I need to upgrade the shocks or the springs to keep up with a Z06 in the twisties?
I was kinda worried it would with that huge front bar, but no, it doesn't so long as you don't come too hot into a corner ('cause most cars will push if you do this).
Bilstein Sports are a big imporovment over z51 shocks. But I am not sure if they are necessary. I am running z51 springs, bilsteins and t1 bars and the handling is significantly improved with no push. Also lowered a bit with a Z06 alignment and Z06 sized wheels. I run even wider wheels for the track.
How much different in ride quality is the Z51 compared to the Bilsteins? I'm not lowered (yet) but will be. I do realize most of you run Bilsteins that are pretty much track cars, and can enjoy the handling on the smooth course or weekend drivers.....but would you consider bilstein sports on a lowered car as a daily driver....or just a bit too harsh?

I've got Bilstein/Z06 swaybars/lowered about 1". It's ok on the road as a daily driver, but I think if it were lowered any more it wouldn't be. You will feel bumps in the road. By the way, your choice of tires will be relevant - the runflats will intensify the bump bounce.
I think the street ride is great, much imporved over stock. My stock shocks would bottom out over big dips. The bilsteins took care of that. Some people feeel the T1s are too harsh for the street, but I don't think so. I would say Bilsteins and z06, hotchkis, or t1 sway bars. Springs can stay and lose the runflats. I would also recommend the adjustable metal endlinks for the sway bars. You probably have the plastic links like I had. I feel this mod really "crisps up" the suspension.
