Steering column locked

Steering column locked
When I inserted my key to put my 98 coupe(automatic) into the garage this evening the car started but the steering column will not unlock....the display reads "service column lock" the car runs but can't be driven with the steering column locked..any ideas??????

Try a search on this topic , there's a bunch of different tricks..If you get it working I strongly suggest that you head straight for the dealer !

Just went through this. Call a flatbed and get it to the dealer. Nothing worked, wiggle steering wheel, disconnect battery. Of course mine was not in the driveway, I was at the store.

The recall ends today---depending on your VIN, you may still get the free fix, if you get it done today. :confused: :crazy:
