Is the steering rack in FRCs ( I have a 99) the same as what comes in a Z06? I was driving my dads 99 Coupe the other day, and it seemed as though my FRC turns in quicker. Anyone have the specs on this?

It is the same rack and stearing gear ratio. Maybe the difference you felt was in the weight differences between the 2 cars with the FRC being aprox 80lbs lighter? Also, the sway bars might be a different size causing the difference in the steering...
Hmmm.... both cars have the Z51 suspension. His car is autXed relentlessly, whereas I just purchased mine. My steering also felt a noticeably heavier. Perhaps his fluid needs changed?
I believe the racks are the same for all C5s. Earlier C4s with Z-51 came with quicker steering, but dropped that when the C5s came out (maybe even earlier).
It could be the added stiffness of your FRC. Even if your Dad's Vette has the Z-51 suspension, you've got that plus a significantly stiffer body/chassis.
It'd be interesting for you to go back and drive both cars in the same road with the same technique, and then try to isolate what you think is different.
