Default Cam Talk. Need some Help.

I'm looking at a Cam (or head/cam combo) to meet the following requirements based upon these factors:

2001 LS1 MN6 with a full cold intake, full length exhaust (with HF Cats), Stage II LS6 heads, LS1 Tuning, etc.

I want a minimum of 420-430 RWHP (500+FWHP) in 90 degree weather.

I also want a smooth driving car with no pinging, no valve spring warmup, a 6500 rpm limiter, no need for lower gears, NO A/C problems or charging problems. And finally little or no loss in fuel mileage and possibly passing some emissions (not a final requirement though) if need be.

What are my cam choices, and please describe them at idle and what I can expect from them (Also, will I need bigger injectors)?
:lurk:

Take a look at our G5X-2 cam. We have made manual cars making 405-415 with just the cam and bolt ons. With S2 LS6 heads they are making 450+ depending on which bolt ons. We will install the cam and do a full tune on your car for 1995.00. With tuning the car can be made very streetable although we usually put the rev limiter at 6800RPM as we upgrade the valvetrain as well. Give us a call at 972.272.7753 if you would like to further discuss.

Is that SAE HP on the dyno...? Can you describe your head & cam package in detail?

Dave this was the cam that I referring to earlier today. I have heard some very positive things about this specific cam. I think you should call up LGM and speak with them directly so they can give you some more guidance as to wether this cam will meet your driveabiltiy and hp needs. Also do a search for G5X2 and you will find several people on this board who are running that same cam.

Dave: As suggested above, give Lou a call. He will answer all your questions. If it's Saturday, Jeremy will be there as well. These guys know their Corvettes.

MiamiDave - Go to LS1Tech .com. Do a search of "Internal Engine" section for "G5X-2" ,time period-past 3 months. You'll find a sheetload (Pun intended) of info. Early June- May entries should be very helpful. This is definitely an Awesome cam. :yesnod: :yesnod:

Miami Dave,
Have you looked at the LPE GT 2-3 cam? I have one in my car, it fits what discribe in your post. It will idle at 800 very smooth, more of a top end cam, 6500 red line, produces power throughout the RPM range. Low to Midrange power/torqe is not affected. I upgraded to stock LS6 heads, power comes on above 4000 RPM, cam specs are very close to 02 up Z/06 cam.

I think it might end up being 20+/- hp shy of what I want...

The more I look into cams, the more difficult this can become. What is your mods and RWHP...?
