Headlight and Pothole Problem
Before I dig into the assembly, has anyone else fixed this? Is it the stops? The motors?
The lights were rock steady before this incident.
:banghead:
There is/was a forum member who came up with brass gears to replace the plastic ones, I've searched and cannot remember his name (Mera???)
Hunt him down, the gear he sells may help you take care of the problem.
Another fix is to remove the gear and rotate it 180 degrees and use the other side. I have not done that, just read it in the archives. Also 00' years and newer, the actuator is sealed not screwed together, I believe you can still get into it and possibly glue it back together with JB Weld after repairs are complete. The actuators assemblies are expensive.
Others will chime in with help I'm sure.
Let us know how it comes out....
I took the car to c4c5specialist's shop, and the headlight assembly, actuator and all, needs to be replaced. I have the GM extended warranty, so that will take care of it.
Again, thank you for the help.
