Default Front Signal Buld...need help:(

I feel like a fool for asking, but does anyone have some tips to replacing the front signal bulbs without taking the whole car apart

I just don't see an easy way...

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, you will need to use the screwdriver in order to fix a burned out bulb. You have to remove the black plastic surround from around the headlights in order to access it, which is not hard. Raise the headlights, remove the 3 phillips screws holding the trim piece on, and remove it. Then you can look down between the fascia and the headlight and see where the bulb resides and remove it. There is a tab that you have to press down before you turn the bulb, counterclockwise when you face the car, I do believe. The owners manual has a section on headlight replacement which has pictures of the trim removal if you need them. Hope this helps

Oops, there is another way to change it if you are an avid contorsionist, which I am not. I've read you can push the brake cooling duct back from the fascia enough to reach a hand in there and feel around for the bulb. I did not try this technique, but I'm sure it will work just as well. Good Luck :smash:

Thanks buddy
I wasn't sure if that would provide enough room or not, so I figured I would ask first. I still have scars from replacing fog lamp bulbs a while back. It looks like I'll be getting some more on this one :banghead:

Thanks Again

There is an easier way to change your parking/turn single lights.
I have made instructions that I send out when I sell my blackout kits.
In order to install the blackouts I make you must remove the parking/turn single so ill send you the instructions through e-mail. Good luck!! :D

More porblems..

I replaced the bulb which seems to work fine. Problem is that the when I select the once dead right signal, the flasher clicks very rapidly and the the signal on the dash barely flicks at all. The front right signal (the one that was burnt out) flashes normally, but the right rear signals way too fast (at the same rate in which the flasher is clicking).
The left side functions normally.
If I use the 4-ways, all corners signal correctly and the flasher clicks like it should. Are there multiple flashers on these cars opposed to just one like most cars?
Maybe one burnt out that I'm not aware of???? This ever happen to anyone?:banghead:

Thanks!!!!!!

Just finished changing the turn signal bulb on my son's 99. bulb is # 3157NA-SA, amber. 2 for $4.10. I tried the way through the brake cooling duct, but my hand was too big to be able to turn the holder to remove. So I drove car up on my 2 wooden ramps and removed the 6 screws holding the black plastic piece at front fender/airdam. With that out of the way, you can easily reach up and twist the holder loose. There is a rubber gasket that may stick to the lanp assembly. I peeded it loose, placed on bulb holder, and reinstalled the assembly. Reinstalled the plastic piece and done. About 15 minutes. As for problem maybe you didn't get the new bulb seated firmly into the holder. It sort of clicks in place. Bulb has 2 filaments.

This is weird. I've got the dual element buld, amber in color...Seems to function correctly (makes light:), but it signals at a slow rate and the right side flasher goes into a clicking frenzy when I select the right signal....

Any other ideas???????

Thanks,

Phil

I could be wrong here but I bought two bulbs for my front turn signals...from Pep Boys the price was 10 dollars... thats twicwe the price you paid... Pep boys is very competitive... the part # I bought was 4157NALL it says OEM.. and they work perfectly on my 99..... remember these where 10 dollars...
also if you remove the hood stop... its an adjustable screw with a stop nut and a rubber pad on the top... its about four inches from your headlights..towards the center of the car... and then remove the black headlight shroud ( three Phillips screws.,.. a gorilla could get its arm in there..Hope this helps

:iagree:

However, I still have this mysterious fast flicker with the right side only. I guess i will replace all the right side bulbs, front and back, and see what happens...Oh what fun...
