Broken Shifter linkage
After 9 days at the dealership for a broken shifter linkage/cable I finally got my baby back only to discover that after about 20 miles of driving and testing it out that there is still a problem and the shifter feels terrible "for a lack of better words". There basically are no detents or feeling between the 1,2,3 and if I wanted it to stay in 1st say, it will not as it pops into a partial position between 1,2. If I want to shift down from D to 3 I have to go into the 2 area wiggle it around some to try to feel some indication of its location before the 3 will engage????It goes back Thursday for further work??? But I am worried to drive it now since when the cable first went, it would not start and I had to have it towed to the dealership.
Brand new cable, feels like crap.....any ideas????

The cable needs to be adjusted where it connects to the transmission. There is a locking clip on the cable end that should be moved to allow the detents on the transmission to match the detents on the shifter. The clip could have come loose.
