front oil leak

I have a 99 c5, I noticed a oil leak from the front of the engine. The oil is coming off the cross member and I haven't been able to locate exactly where its coming from. Could this be the front seal? I haven't owned the car long and I don't know who to bring it too in my area for work! Any info would be helpful

raise the hood and completely clean the engine compartment then raise the car up and completely clean the bottom of the engine. Drive the car for a few miles and you should be able to spot your leak, BTW it may be something simple like a valve cover that is just running down the front of the motor and onto the cradle, this is why you need to clean everything real good. :cheers:

Sounds like it may be coming out of the front seal. Try to get the car on a lift and see if you see it coming from the just under the harmonic ballancer. If it is, then a new front cover seal is in order. Not too hard of a job, just a PITA to get to.
