I want to replace my brakes all the way around on my vette. What is a very good "brake kit" to purchase? I am just a gear head who likes to mix it up on the street. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :steering:
Most people put on Drilled/Slotted rotors and add Hawk pads. This setup is fine for the street. It doesn't make the car stop much better, but it looks much better. Also, this setup is not for racing.
I've seen kits for around 1300.00 which used the stock calipers and were DOT4 with stainless brake lines. These kits are available on West Coast Corvettes Web site.
Also, where do you guys and gals purchase your "Vette stuff"?

Re: Braking Help (dubya)
We have a 6 piston Wilwood front upgrade that includes DBA drilled and slotted rotors all around.
The price is $1799 complete with calipers, Low dust/Low noise pads, ss brake lines and rotors all around plus all the hardware.
Or you can upgrade to the Wilwood 2 piece rotors for a little more.
If your looking for something for the street/street racing I would recommend the set-up that I just posted... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=604566, which are actually the rotors that LG has pictured at the bottom. However, for serious track events I would go with his pistion set-up, which I plan to try with my race rims as soon as possible.
