....That is veterans on board. Got my 2002 Convertible on June 6 with 4600 miles. Ordered build sheet and black book from NCM. Surprise surprise it has the FE3/Z51 H/D susp and sport package, and G90 3.15 axle. Car has A-4.
Is this Z-51 package same as originally put on older C-3s and C-4s? How much worse (or better depending if you like hard) is the ride quality with Z-51 over stock C-5? Anyone able to compare? I was singing praises over the precision sterring control, now I guess I know why.
What is acceleration impact of 3.15 over standard?
Thanks..........and C-5 is light years more car than the 78 C-3 I owned before. :flag
I cannot respond to the suspension questions, but I have a 2002 coupe with 2.73 rear end and I am at least a coupe tenths slower at the track versus the 3.15 cars. If I ever buy another C5 with automatic it will have the 3.15. Mine gets good mileage on the road but I would like a little more kick off the stoplight... I mean off the line. :jester
I can't answer to the acceleration impact, but if you like a better handling vehicle, you'll be happy with the Z51. I think the improved handling is well worth the slight harshness in the ride (very slight).
Oh yeah, my C5 is far far far better than my C4 was too.
