I am looking to get a caliper paint kit to get my calipers painted red to match my torch red coupe (and to get that z06 look). Before I do that; has anyone ever tried a kit like that? Do the z06 calipers actually make your brakes better or is it the pads?
I'm thinking the same thing. I have a touch red vert. I have a friend I work with that has done just about everything there is to do on cars. I trust him 100%. I was about to purchase on of these paint kits and decided to consult my "car mod guru" He said to get some engine enamel in a spray can, clean the daylights out of the calipers with brake clean...then clean them again. Tape up the wheel area and spray light coats. 3-4 coats should produce a great finish. I'm going to do it in about 2 weeks. I'll post the results with steps when I'm done.
I agree red calipers look great. The diy kits or rustoleum sound good but how do you keep the paint off the raised CORVETTE lettering on the caliper. Taping them off seems tedious.

Paint over them, and then use fine sand paper to remove the paint from the letters, after the paint has dried of course...again do a search on this topic, and you will find an answer to just about every question you can have on this subject.
