Re: NE1 using Shaner Throttlebody (MQRTRS C5)
On my head/cam car, it is all throttle response; much improved. The unit looks like a piece of jewelry when you place aside the stock piece.

I agree great product and great guy. Mark spends about 7-8 hours per throttle body.

Re: NE1 using Shaner Throttlebody (Touring)
So whats the general consensus? I've seen a few report 2HP increase and others say 10HP. For 8-10HP, I think its definately worth it.
Any other opinions? :lurk:

I've got one of his, and am very impressed with it..
He also has one of my BBK's and is doing his magic with that.
I have access to a Superflo and am planning to take some time and measure the airflow through a stock unit, an S2, a BBK, and a ported BBK...

Have you had a chance to get some Superflo data on the TB's? I'm thinking about getting a S2. It looks liks Shaner has porting TB's down to an art.

I put one on my car. No measurable gains for me.

Re: NE1 using Shaner Throttlebody (extremecorvette)
I don't think I got any real gains.. But the throttle is much more responsive! :smash:
I really only did it because I was bored... :D
Plus I like the filled in PCV cavity. here is my rationale.
The cavity under "WOT" would have 60mph air rushing over it. that could cause a big vacuum and start sucking crankcase fumes back out..
I merely disconnected the line from the TB and put a filter on it. Now the TB is just one smooth bore.
I see no other rational reason for GM to hook this fresh air line to the TB except to get "Filtered" air. It was cheap and easy to do. I like my way better. Car runs Great!

Re: NE1 using Shaner Throttlebody (chuckster)
Small gain here but like everyone said, better throttle response when you punch it.
