Default Help! Wiring.

I did the aftermarket shock/sound sensor upgrade to the stock alarm system. The problem is now I get a very annoying DIC message (Tanneau Ajar) when driving cause the shock sensor is still on. My question: is there a wire in this car that gives either +12V or ground ONLY when the ignition is turned off? If there is I can hook up the sensor wire positive or negative to either of these so that the sensor is only active when the ignition is turned off...
I know you electric guru's can help, it's driving me mad!!

Your going to half to add a switch that removes the sensor feedback (to bcm) or sensor supply during driving. A simple hidden toggle switch will work fine and can be hidden anywhere.

I did the alarm upgrade located here under the tech tips. The N9 connector happened to be the Tonneau cover switch, once grounded sets off the alarm. I have no idea what you are saying about the diode's and relays, I just followed the directions in the tech tip. Can you elaborate anymore on why this is not wise?

Also, this "ignition off" wire you mentioned, is it just grounded when the ignition is off? When the ignition is then turned on, does the ground just go away or does the wire get any sort of positive voltage? If so that would not work too good. I could use a ignition off wire that was just grounded when the ignitions off. If it sent any positive voltage it would not work with my sensor. What color and where is this wire located?

Ahh, I see what you mean by the diodes now seperating the existing circuit and the add-on circuit. I did not know the computer would tell the difference between the two different ground sources at pin N9? There must be something further down the line on the Tonneau cover circuit that activates the DIC message?

Anyways I decided to hook this up inline with a clutch hidden kill switch. Flip one switch to kill the ignition and activate the new alarm sensor, flip it off to turn off the sensor while I drive and activate the clutch ground so I can start! Works like a champ..

I did not care to have the motion detector sensor, in the past i've had problems with them going off all the time. I bought this little cheap sensor for only $11 + shipping from the states:

EXCALIBUR AU85TA - Shock And Sound Sensor

* Two sensors in one. This sensor combines a broad spectrum ì impact and vibration sensor utilizing new Air Resonance ì technology, in conjunction with an extra sensitive condenser ì microphone and sound discrimination circuit to detect glass ì tampering, making a potent but amazingly economical sensor ì choice. * Prewired plug-in remote mount condenser microphone. * Each zone is independently adjustable. * L.E.D.. sensitivity test light. * Pre-wired 4-Pin Plug allows easy connection to all Omega ì systems. * Includes "No-Hole" mounting bracket for microphone. * Impervious to RF interference - today's major cause of false ì alarms.
