Strange knocking (tranny??) sound... (mp3)
When the car has been driven a while and then standing in neutral there is a strange knocking sound coming from the back of the car. When I press the clutch the knocking starts to slow down, till it stops... when I put in a gear the sound stops instantly. Is something wrong with my tranny?? :eek:

What you are experiencing is "normal" for the 6-speed C5, believe it or not. It's characteristic of the rear-mount tranny which uses ATF. You can minimize the sound by slowly releasing the clutch with the tranny in neutral.
