LS 1 Engine Balancing
When I got my car, the Harmonic Balancer was removed. Since the HB is not keyed to the crankshaft, I had no way of installing the new HB with the weights in the correct position, so I installed it without ANY weights.
Am I likely to do some damage to the engine?
The workshop manual shows how you can balance the engine after it's left the factory. Anyone know if it works?
Do you think I should just forget it or pursue getting it balanced?
I have no noticeable vibrations. Sometimes I have one at 3500 rpm, but since I'm not driving it yet, I can't tell if I can feel it in the car.
