I did the same as you. There computer states the yellow top. The guy check the specs of the yellow top and gave me the red top with the same or better specs. The red top I got is...
Part # 34/78
Model # 9083547
CA 980
CCA 800
RC 104

Hi, I have alot of experience with the optima batterys. I have two red ones in my Talon TsiAWD and a yellow one in my Vette. Either one will work for you and both are far better than stock. I've read quite a few horror stories on this forum about the Delco leaking acid and destroying wires. If you drive you vette alot and in colder weather, go red top. If you let the vette sit for weeks between drives and store in winter, go yellow top. The Optima web site explains the reasons why. Good luck. :seeya

The Optima red top is the standard battery for cars.
It comes in 2 sizes:
75 - smaller 720Amps
78 - larger 800amps
Both sizes will fit in the C5.
The yellow top is the deep cycle version, with 750amps.
It is more tolerant of deep discharges and will recover from a deep discharge better than the red top. The trade off is about 50amps less power and it costs a little more.
But if you let your C5 sit for long periods, or drive short distances (such that the battery does not get to fully recharge), then the yellow top might last longer.

Personally myself, I'd get the yellow one just because it matches my car. :D
you can't go wrong with either, they make a high quality battery.
