Help! Raptor install

Ok I found a link that should be able to help if you're trying to connect under the passenger footwell:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=380488
What may have occurred is that it is not solidly connected. I had a hard time with those small connectors because they sliced two wires and I had to do a lot of splicing to get them back together. Those were with connectors I bought at the auto parts store. But then I got some from the hardware store---the ones where you put the two wires together and snap it shut and they worked great.
What you might do is take the connector off and see if it has pressed through the outer protection of the wire and into the metal wiring itself.

I think I have the Raptor set right because it flashes 2(for 2K rpm, then 1 for 100rpm then 8 for 8 cylinders) I set it at 2100rpm while I'm installing it-no sense red lining the engine unnecessarily.
I have tried every white wire I could find in that wire harness regardless of gauge without success.
I guess I'll have to give in and go to the PCM. But i know I'll just find that the white wire will be one of those I've tried

Otherwise, what a hassle. I thought that maybe the link I provided above would solve your problems. If you're going to the pcm, there are instructions on the Raptor website for C5/Z06 instructions. Those are the ones I used. In my case, the supplied wiring wasn't enough to go from the pcm to the connections under the footwell, so I had to splice a wire.
It's time consuming but maybe worth going that route since you're having so many problems right now. Basically, take the right front wheel off, take out the screws holding the covering to the pcm. You will need to pry the gray top off the harness holder and I think that it is the white #10 wire on the right. Just connect to that and run it up under the battery (which has to be removed, and remember to find and use the hard rubber block when reinstalling the battery) and around to the firewall. It's going to be hard to find a place to go through the firewall, so you might need to put a light under the dash on the passenger side and look from the engine to see the light shining through the firewall. Then use the coat hanger to push the wire through the firewall to the footwell. That's the hard part. Then just make the connections and it's done. Even though it sounds like you have some of the lights already connected, I'd review the instructions on the color of the wires because there is no white wire at this point to connect to. The green wire from the shift light will attach to the wire you have brought up from the pcm.
Unfortunately, due to the problems with splicing, etc. I had to button the car up for the evening and re-do the whole thing again the next day, but it works great now.
Good luck on getting this done. I'm pretty tall and working under the dash is a real headache for me. It seems that you're on the right track per the link above, but at this point, in order to finally get it done, you might just be better off to do it from the pcm. From where you are now, I'd say it's between an hour and an hour and a half to do the wheel, battery, and pcm stuff. It's easier if you have someone help you try to get the wire through the firewall since it's hard to find the small spot to slide it through.

I think your problem is that you've set the Raptor for 8 cylinders instead of 4. That's right, 4. The LS1 uses a different coil setup so the Raptor needs to be set at 4 cylinders to work properly on our engines. The sequence of the dip switches should be OFF-ON-OFF. If you read page 1 of the directions, you'll see the special note about LS1's.
That should get you working properly.
I put mine in today but haven't wired it due to not enough space to open the doors in the garage so it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
set on 4 cyl. My next step was to jack up the car and go to the PCM (which
wouldn't have helped!). Then I guess I'd have returned the light thinking it
didn't work, etc...
As soon as I read your email I ran down to the garage, changed the setting,
clipped onto one wire and BINGO! I've been bummed all weekend ( one of my mods
doesen't work-end of the world. Am I a typical vette owner-I need to get a
life).
THANKS AGAIN, you guys saved me so much trouble!
Ron
