Default Oil pressure sensor and Antenna replace

Changed my oil pressure sensor and antenna today… For you novice do it yourselfers all you have to do to replace your antenna motor is remove your right taillight. (I leaned the hard way by thinking I had to go through the wheel well … then remove the bumper… while taking apart the bumper I realized my blunder and quickly swapped the motor out through the taillight. :)
:smash:

Question for anyone who knows- 2 problems

1. I am not able to set my FOB though the control center. I have changed 3 sets of batteries in my fob and still nothing. It says in the manual to hold lock and unlock for 15 seconds… Well the 15 seconds come and go, but nothing happens.

2. How do you train your tires to read a new tire pressure? I am able to get to the part where it says “learn L front”, but I do not know how to train them. (this is through holding reset under the options menu.)

Thanks for your help in advance!

Erik,

When training the FOB, have you advanced through the options menu on the DIC to the blank screen and depressed rest to initiate the FOB learning mode? When training the TPMs, you need to position a magnet (nothing fancy, whatever Radio Shack sells for less than $2 or an old speaker magnet) next to the valve stem of the wheels in the same sequence as the DIC prompts (I think it's LF; RF; RR; LR) and after a maiximum of 10-15 seconds at each valve stem, the horn will sound to indicate the completion of "that" wheel. Then you advance to the next wheel with the magnet and repeat the "training" process.

I hope this helps!

“tell me about the oil sender..... did you pull the intake completely off ? did you remove the injectors?”

First we disconnect all of the electrical parts. We left the injectors inside of the manifold and just lifted it up and over the power steering reservoir. (You may have to disconnect the water line hose if the hose will not let you slide the manifold forward.) From there the pressure sensor was easy to get to. The symptoms I had that prompted me to change the pressure sensor were: my oil pressure said 130 on the display and the needle was pegged to the right. If anyone knows what the correct torque is for the intake manifold please post. Thanks!!! Good luck Evil-Twin. (the job took about 3 ½ hours.)

“When training the FOB, have you advanced through the options menu on the DIC to the blank screen and depressed rest to initiate the FOB learning mode?”

Yes, I did that and held the lock and unlock for a good 30 seconds and nothing happened. I’m wondering if it’s a bad fob. :(

I will try this tomorrow. Thank you for the great help TeeJay!!!
