i just upgraded my firmware to v 3.0.0. went smoothly. had the problems that you typically have when messing with com ports on a pc. had to use the 'winmsd' program (Start > Run > type in 'winmsd') to determine which com port to use.

winmsd:
System Summary > Components > Ports > Serial
the com # should be listed in the Name field at the top on the right half side of winmsd

then, after installing the upgrade software, made sure that both the gtech unit and the pc software were set to same baud rate and same com port. if something else was plugged into the serial port, then you will need to stop any related services before plugging in the gtech serial cable to the pc.

after i got the typical serial issues sorted out, it took me about 1 minute to upgrade the firmware.

the firmware upgrade will erase all calibrations and settings, so you will need to recalibrate and modify settings like vehicle weight and rpm limit.

note that the new firmware version has additional calibration features to provide a more accurate calibration. calibrate at least twice for added accuracy.

if anybody has questions or problems with the software or firmware upgrade, then post a msg here or shoot me an email. i've become very familiar with all of it. :)

also, the links to everything are on the gtechpro homepage, or go directly here:
http://www.gtechpro.com/SWdownloads.html

you'll want to get:

1. PC Software - G-tech PASS version 1.1.1 http://www.gtechpro.com/downloads/In...h_PASS_111.exe

2. Firmware Upgrade - v 3.0 http://www.gtechpro.com/downloads/Gt...date_3.0.0.exe
just the above file if you have v1.2 or later. otherwise, you'll need two files. see web site.

3. G-TECH Pro Competition Manual, 3.0 (1.1 MB) http://www.gtechpro.com/downloads/comp_ver_3_0.pdf
(very minor changes only from v2.0)

the software and firmware upgrades should simply be doubleclicked and installed. then select them from Start menu. :)

Can anybody provide a sample data log file??
I’d like to load it up in the log viewer that I downloaded from their website and see what real data actually looks like.

Thanks.
