pls help - After ported MAF install 'check engine' light is on

pls help - After ported MAF install 'check engine' light is on
Seems to be running fine, but check engine light came on. If this is only due to new component and not an actual problem, I want to avoid going to the dealer to get that light shut off. Suggestions?

When you say "ported" did you just descreen or did you remove the aluminum fins too? If you removed the fins (I did the same thing and got the light) then you'll need to replace the MAF. If you have a good relationship with your SM at the dealer he may replace it under warranty (mine did). If no warranty then you'll have to shop for one in the parts section.
Visit to the dealer either way.

Sounds like you damaged the sensor wires when you ported it. I have a new MAF with the screen removed that i'll sell to you. I was only run on the dyno for a few hours and then swapped out for a bigger one.

Make sure the connector is in the correct direction!!
I had mine off for cleaning and was getting an error code. Turns out the connector on mine will fit in either direction.
