C5 tire air pressure sensor message
I couldn't stand looking at a 3" scratch on my LF wheel (oem 2000 wheel with 7400 miles), so took my wheel to Wheels America to get it refinished. When I remounted the wheel I got a "service tire pressure sensor" message. I took the wheel back ... shop said their 400+ degree oven must have fried it (strike 1). They replaced it with a used sensor ... I mounted it again, same message (strike 2). They supposedly put on a brand new unit. Again, same message (strike 3). I am really getting tired with this. These folks do a ton of business what can they be dong to screw up remounting the tire or the wheel sensor? Or is the loose nut, me? Is there something I'm supposed to be doing when I put the tire back on the car other than torque the 5 lug nuts to 100#'s? I can clear the error message, but it shows the LF tire pressure as a blank and shows the Service message everytime I start the car. Thanks.

Question: Why didn't they just remove the sensor when they removed the tire? Don't they normally take out the valve stems anyway? :confused:
Just do the re-learn process and you will be all set to go.
