Charge System Fault....HUH?????
Driving my car last night when that message popped up on the DIC. I had just started up and only driven about a quarter mile. I stopped to check it out and it went away and hasn't come back. Is this anything I should be worried about :confused: :confused: :confused:

I used to get that with my stock battery about once every other month. I would just clear the code and never had any other problems or had any charging or starting issues. I dont believe my battery ever even leaked but haven't had it since my optima.

Could be a leaking battery which can be very destructive on a C5. The engine computer is below it and can get fried by the acid. Better have it checked out. Check voltage on your DIC ... is it dipping into the 11's or 12's? Those are good quarter mile times, but not good voltages when you're driving!

I have gotten it twice when starting the car. I make a point of trying to release the starter as soon as the car starts. Sometimes the car isn't "really" started for a moment and I am assuming the alternator isn't providing any or adequate charge for a running engine and the fault is thrown. In my case I have not stored a code.
