I'm a newby, I would like to put a lower temp. thermostat in my 2000 coupe, and have read where I'll need to reset up fan on temp. I have also read I can do tthis with a "Vinci Switch". Where can I get one and how much are they?
Thanks
Some of the Forum vendors are sure to have them. I would recommend WestCoastCorvettes. I've bought several things from them. I haven't done this switch, but I'm planning on getting some power programming next spriing after adding long tube headers, high flow cats, and x-pipe. In addition to taking full advantage of the mods, the programming can adjust the fan temps down. :seeya
In my opinion, you don't need a new thermostat, only the switch. I set mine to come on at 207 and it goes off at about 201. I left in the stock thermostat and the oil temp stay right in the proper temp range. Too cool is not good either.
you can get a vinci switch from some of the forum members,..,. I bought one from BPP.. 149 dollars... it comes with everything you need to hook it up to yor C5 including specific instructions... install is about 30 to 45 minutes.. all of the wires are the right length etc.. and it has the right connectors.. or
you can go to Pep boys and buy the same switch make your own wire connections buy a few connectors.. for 39 dollars.. both switches are made by haden. there is also a complete set of instructions in the C5 tech tips sections on this mod.
