Right now, my car has the LS6 cam and intake, tpis headers, offroad xpipe, 3500 yank stall with 2.5 str, and a vararam. Oh, and a tranny cooler and shift kit.
Anyhow, I ran consistent 7.80's and 12.20's at the track friday on Nitto's.
I have a TNT f2 kit that I'm going to install next week.
My car has the 3.15 gears now and I was wondering if going to 3.42's or 3.73's will help alot. If they'd only be good for a couple tenth's in the 1/4, then I don't want to spend the extra money on gears when I could add a fuel pump and injectors and just spray 150 instead of 100.
Re: How much would gears help my current setup? (xSSv)
Both would give you about 2 tenths maybe 3 but go with 3.90 and you could see a 5tenth drop and 3 or 4 mph gain. I run 3.42s but they seem to work well with my yank 4000 conv.

How bad would traction be with that steep of gear? Right now, the nitto's hold well to consistant 1.75-1.77 60ft times. I have some 17" et streets on back order. I'm hoping they get here soon because I think with the spray, the nitto's are going to get blazed. :D
Re: How much would gears help my current setup? (xSSv)
You are right with a 150 shot you will probably have traction issues with your Nitto's. If I were you I would think twice about spraying a 150 shot if you are running the stock bottom end.

:withstupid: Get the gears and run a 100 or 125 shot, many say 150 is safe, but many say it isn't and why push the limit on a multi $K motor.
